Summer isn’t exactly over but we are already looking forward to the season of cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes. There are tons of exciting trends to try this season but these are at the top of our list. Keep scrolling to discover the biggest fashion trends for Fall/Winter 2022.
Back to Black... and White
After several seasons of bold, bright and optimistic colors and patterns, this upcoming season signifies the return of fashion's favorite color: black! Along with fashion’s original favorite color combination: black and white. You can expect tons of contrasting options at your local FCB this Fall/Winter.
Cobalt Blue
Another popular color trend this year is cobalt blue. The hue is a great transitional color and packs a punch without looking overly “trendy.” The color can play many parts as it can go from statement-making to subtle easily. Expect to see eye-catching blazers and sweaters along with cool layering tanks and multi-colored dresses.
Animal Print
Animal print is technically never “out of style,” however, the trend is more prevalent in some seasons than others. This year we noticed tons of animal print on the runway. It is a nice mix up from the super feminine floral prints we have seen this past Spring/Summer and can read more sophisticated than a dainty floral print.
Leather Head-to-Toe
Leather for fall isn’t exactly ground-breaking news. However, designers are taking leather to an entirely new level with head-to-toe leather. Expect to see leather everything; shorts, joggers, blazers, skirts, tops - You name it, they are making it in leather, and even better, are pairing it head-to-toe. Black leather is a must-have staple of the season but if you want to mix it up, colorful leather is in as well!
Quilted Jackets
These are not your grandma’s quilts! Quilted jackets are a fun rendition of the average coat and can add a playful twist to any simple outfit whether you’re wearing jeans and a tee or a solid midi dress. They’re lightly padded so they are not too hot, making them a great transitional staple.
Lovely Lace
Tons of brands are incorporating lace details in their designs this season. The trend is sophisticated and can add a hint of sexy to any outfit. Lace-detailed tops, sweaters and blazers are an elevated option to try if you do not want to wear puff sleeves or ruffles this fall. Get ready for lots of lace details this upcoming Fall/Winter from brands like Cami NYC, Generation Love and more at FCB.
Wide Leg Bottoms
A full-length wide leg screams “Chic” and compliments a various range of body shapes and sizes. If you want to take on the trend this Fall/Winter, be sure to pair a wide-leg jean with a tucked-in blouse, fitted sweater or bodysuit to maintain balance. If you are hesitant but want to dip your toe in the trend, try going for the subtle sister of the wide-leg, the bootcut fit.
Sweaters & Silk
Say hi to a new and easy outfit combination for Fall/Winter: comfy sweaters and silk bottoms. This texture combination is so elevated and fresh! It’s also so easy to take from casual to dressy by going from a sneaker to a heel or heeled boot. Some of your favorite brands like Vince, Nation and Go Silk will have beautiful options of the trend this year.
Suit Up!
There is a heavy dose of “elevated dressing” this Holiday season with a prominent evening wear trend of luxe suiting. Aside from wearing a suit for evening wear, designers were inspired to cater to the working woman’s wardrobe this year, as many women return to the office. Dresses are easy options, however, we are seeing plenty of separates that you can get more use out of being that there are so many ways to style the blazer and pant versus the limited ways to style a dress.
Eye For Emerald
Whether it be an everyday hoop or a leather handbag, emerald accessories will instantly boost your go-to outfits. This color is so versatile as it pairs great with black, white, or brown clothing and looks good on a variety of skin tones and hair colors. Emerald green jewelry can be easily mixed with your current gold and silver pieces, so do not be afraid to mix metals this season and add this vibrant pop of color to your wardrobe!
